Yukos Oil Company and Yuganskneftegaz
Yukos was liquidated; its key production assets, including Yuganskneftegaz, passed to other owners.

Yukos was one of Russia’s largest oil companies. Its assets were frozen and sold amid tax claims, and the company was liquidated. According to the case materials, its principal production assets, including Yuganskneftegaz, passed to other owners, mainly in the state oil sector. In 2014, an international arbitral tribunal found that the measures taken against former shareholders’ investments had an effect equivalent to expropriation.
