Involvement
After acquiring Baikalfinansgrup, the winner of the Yuganskneftegaz sale auction, Rosneft gained control of Yukos’s key producing asset. International arbitration proceedings brought by former Yukos shareholders later considered the sale of Yuganskneftegaz and its subsequent transfer to a state-owned company as part of measures the tribunal found equivalent to expropriation.
