Maintaining International Protection After Naturalization
The initiative proposes preserving access to protection mechanisms for naturalized individuals when the risk of transnational persecution continues.

The Problem
Acquiring a new nationality may end certain forms of protection previously granted to a refugee, even when the risk of persecution or transnational pressure remains.
The Proposal
IAE proposes considering legal mechanisms that would preserve international protection after naturalization unless the person voluntarily relinquishes it or the competent authorities determine that the relevant risk has ended.
The initiative aims to ensure that a change in civil status, on its own, does not prevent a person from seeking protection while a threat persists.
