ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

We protect property, freedom of enterprise, and the rule of law.

IAE is an international association of entrepreneurs, lawyers, human rights advocates, and experts united by solidarity, freedom of enterprise, the protection of private property, and the rule of law.

Property rights are a cornerstone of free enterprise and a democratic state governed by the rule of law. When property is no longer protected, it is not only individual entrepreneurs who are at risk: legal institutions, the investment climate, and ultimately the freedom of society are weakened.

About the International Association of Entrepreneurs

Over recent decades, the Russian state has steadily weakened the institutions meant to protect private property, freedom of enterprise, and the right to an independent judiciary. One of the most serious consequences has been large-scale expropriation: state and judicial mechanisms intended to protect rights are used to seize and redistribute private assets.

At this stage, the Association focuses primarily on Russia. In time, this approach may also be relevant to other countries where expropriation, dependent courts, and the political persecution of businesses are used to preserve authoritarian power.
